They have recently made some material of their own under the artist name Miroir. The debut EP So Fewer Particles Scatter is out on Holographic People. Favorite track is Night Sky - a cool tune with some nice 80s italo sounds.

MJ MASH

Two years today since the king of dance music passed away. Here's a batch of MJ mash-ups, re-edits, covers and remixes. Also, don't miss the Axel F Ascension of MJ event tonight at Liv on U and 11th.

SPECIALIZE IN LOVE

I Specialize in Love is the title of a 1982 club banger performed by Sharon Brown. Today is her birthday! What better occasion to bring out this classic disco stomper.

The Brown song is the main sample for the Drop Out Orchestra tune Baby Come Home. Another club banger for sure.

The Brown tune given a makeover by Munga. Lovin it!

ROLLERBOOGIE

The Jacques Renault remix of the latest Breakbot track Fantasy is pretty nice and comes with a way cool video featuring some vintage footage. Roller-boogie!

Here's the video to the original. The guy with the beard is Thibaut Berland aka Breakbot. The story is a bit similar to the debut video of Norwegian 80s pop band A-ha. A bit cheesy, but a nice looking model!

I CAN GO FOR THAT

Hall and Oates are performing at the Wolftrap outside of DC tonight. My favorite tune by this legendary pop duo is I Can't Go for That from their 1981 album Private Eyes.

De La Soul sampled the tune for the track Say No Go from their 1989 debut album 3 Feet High and Rising.

Other favorite Hall and Oates tunes include Out of Touch from the 1984 album Big Bam Boom and of course Maneater from the 1982 album H20.

SWEETEST PAIN

Dexter Wansel made sweet Philly sounds and spaced out funk back in the 1970s. Any self-respecting DJ has come across a copy of the Loft Classic 12" featuring his unforgettable funky jam Life on Mars.

Here's the soul gem The Sweetest Pain featuring Terri Wells on vocals and given the Ooft retouch.

MAKE U MINE

OOFT aka Ali Herron and Graeme Clark are two Glasgow-based music lovers with a "shared passion in house, disco, 80s soul and more." Their love for disco has resulted in a mean musical piece combining the sounds of Melba Moore with some tightened up beats - Make U Mine!

Here's the Melba Moore original... Love's Comin At Ya!

LOVE ON THE LINE

London based singer and producer Tyson has kept up a mysterious image while releasing hypnotic beats inspired by italo disco. His latest tune Love's on the Line is "a romantic thriller about the death of love. Love isn’t always flowers and chocolates and in my case it’s always been death."

More Tyson tracks can be found (and downloaded) on his Soundcloud page. Here are some mixes of Die On The Dancefloor.
